Kimberley M. Spurlock (“Kim”) graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997 and attended South Texas College of Law, where she graduated Cum Laude in 2001 and was licensed to practice law in Texas that same year. Since that time, she has handled thousands of cases including personal injury matters on the plaintiff and defense side, wrongful death matters, industrial accidents, insurance coverage matters, contested and uncontested probate matters, contested and uncontested guardianship matters, family law matters, real estate matters including boundary disputes, easement disputes and use restriction disputes, neighbor disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, DTPA matters, employment matters, discrimination matters, trade secret litigation, business divorces, contract disputes, HOA matters and a variety of other civil litigation matters.
Kim has tried well over fifty jury trials in courtrooms throughout Texas and has been Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2009. She has also been appointed by the courts to serve as a Guardian Ad Litem and Attorney Ad Litem in a wide variety of cases since 2003.
Kim knows how to problem solve, having resolved thousands of her cases through mediation, many times by thinking outside the box and creatively structuring settlements for her clients that accomplish their goals without the need for a trial.
After over twenty years of litigating, Kim has transitioned her practice, putting her years of experience to use by providing mediation services to the legal community. Kim knows the importance of a mediator having the knowledge and experience necessary to assist parties in the resolution of their disputes. She understands the necessity of using strong communication skills to help bring out not only the facts, but the underlying issues on each side that tend to hinder a party’s ability to compromise, and then bringing those parties to a mutually beneficial resolution of their case.
Kim provides her mediation services via Zoom for the convenience of all parties, but also understands there are some cases, and some clients, who need an in-person mediation, and those accommodations are also available.
